UMBRELLA

Umbrella is a Georgian youth value-based organization that is aiming to educate, motivate and activate young people aged 13-30 in Georgia and beyond, in order to be empowered and develop the communities that they are coming from.

The mission of the organization is to support young people's progress by creating educational initiatives to develop young people's competence in the field of civil society, environment, human rights and democracy in Georgian society.

To reach the goal we adopted the strategy of setting up youth development spaces to attract young people and implement various youth-led activities at local, national and international levels. Currently, we have three youth centres in different regions of Georgia.

Since its establishment in 2016, our members and beneficiaries have participated in various local, national and international youth work-related events. We have run dozens of projects at the local level and became a partner in the European project with our international partner youth organization. To ensure the real impact we work on local, national and international levels, something that brings innovation and problem-solving youth work results.

The main aim of the Organisation is the rescue, preservation and transmission of cultural heritage, sustainability of the environment, discrimination, social and environmental entrepreneurship, social inclusion, elimination of discrimination and racism, and to grant our members the chance to be involved in themes about Environment, Culture, Sports, Racism, Equality, Democracy and Discrimination. Cultural and Sports activities promote social inclusion, human rights and help in the limitation of discrimination among the generations.

In an effort to promote the above-mentioned important values, the association is organising cultural, informative, educational and interactive activities for youth with the new European Programs department of the association. Our organization is conducting activities in 3 main fields:
1) Social Activities: We organize theater, cinema, concerts, picnics and dinners with families and our members. Since our organization's member profile consists mainly of individuals with disabilities and their families, we try to provide them with open spaces to socialize with other people and create joyful activities.
